Data Collection tool and How to Employ Translational research
My research-based is on finding out if women who have PCOS can conceive if they reduce their carbohydrates and refined sugar intake from their diet. I would administer questionnaires that will help collect data answering the research questions concerning the type of information these participants know about PCOS, their perception about PCOS, the preventive measures for PCOS, and the current practicing methods they are aware of (Brennan et al., 2017). Collecting this information is critical in answering the research question and developing a way to prevent PCOS from improving conception rates among these women.
Many barriers may arise during data collection; however, utilizing translational research will help resolve those barriers before they result in the collection of unreliable data. Translational research can be used in this case, where the researcher will ensure openness, straightforward language, and understandable variables in the questionnaire for the participants (Parija, 2020). Translational research implies that the participants be provided with understandable and clear information in every aspect of the research. This will improve participant response and the validity of the data collected for the research.
The T2 level will be used to implement dietary changes in PCOS treatment to improve conception rates (Parija, 2020). T2 levels focus on utilizing the research data to develop interventions and practice guidelines that can help solve PCOS and control its major risk factors of intake of refined sugar diet and carbohydrates, reducing the chances of conception among affected women (Parija, 2020). Stakeholder involvement is one of the strategies to employ at this research level. Involving the team and educating them about the importance of implementing a reduced refined sugar diet and carbohydrates will improve the uptake of the implementation process for the intervention.
